They have ticks and they are outdoor cats. we put cream on their middle back that’s supposed to keep them away but it isn’t. i rip off a tick every few days and it’s very frustrating. any ideas how to get rid of them or what to do?

I got this cat off the street, and 3 days later noticed what I think to be a tick. I took it off, but not sure if I did it right. What can you tell me about ticks.
I’ve attached a link with the tick photo.

I have to take the cat to the vet to get fixed. My friend was scared that she might get Lyme disease because she touched the stray.

I have two cats and my aunt is coming into town to stay here for a night along with her french bulldog. Yesterday, she found a tick on the dog. She removed it already and didn’t see anymore but how much of a chance is there that my cats will get ticks?

I just found a tick on my cat today and we smothered it with Vaseline and we’re waiting to see what will happen in the next few hours. I was using a Hartz spray to “prevent” fleas and ticks. But I just now read that it’s not as good as other sprays and spot on medications. So any advice for future prevention would help.

My wife found a tick on one of our cats this morning under its neck and pulled it off before she told me about it. Luckily she managed to pull the whole tick off intact without the head breaking off. I have read this can give humans lime disease (among other nasty things). What is the best way to remove ticks from cats? For future reference, can cats get lime disease from ticks like humans?
