I have been adopted by a local cat. I kick her out whenever she comes in through the cat flap, but I can’t lock it as my cat comes and goes all evening. I’ve just noticed that she has some ticks on her face. I checked my cat but found none and he is regularly de-ticked with Frontline. I feel really itchy and paranoid now. I have hoovered my flat, sofa and bed and put bed covers and towels and stuff in the wash. I have also put up posters to find her real owner. What else can I do?

My wife found a tick on one of our cats this morning under its neck and pulled it off before she told me about it. Luckily she managed to pull the whole tick off intact without the head breaking off. I have read this can give humans lime disease (among other nasty things). What is the best way to remove ticks from cats? For future reference, can cats get lime disease from ticks like humans?

My cat has small bumps under his skin. I thought he could have ticks. He is a total indoor cat. He has never been outside except a few times when we moved and when we took him to the vets.
