I have used Advantix K9 for 5 Years or so. I usually buy it online from 1-800-Petmeds. It has always worked really good, and sometimes I can go over the month. Since I have 2 dogs it is expensive to use every month.
So I bought it off ebay a few times, and once it didn’t seem to work. I also bought it from Petsmart, and one week later there was a flea on my dog, and I had to put it on again. And than 2 weeks later I had to use another one.
It is very important it work for my Maltese, as she is allergic to flea bites.
So the question is, why do some work, and some not work. Anybody experience this also?
I went on viewpoints and reads some reviews, and they didn’t sound too good. I can’t take the chance of it not working!
I used to use Frontline, but that was allowing the flea to bite my dog before it was killed. So I was having alot of trouble with her scratching, and changed to Advantix, which worked wonderful untill I started to buy it other places, which by the way is the question!
We have to protect them against ticks too, as we go up to the mountains alot.
I am wondering if I should use the cheaper and safer advantage in the winter, and the Advantix in the summer when we are camping?
Just checked and Advantage is only 6 or 7 dollars cheaper.

Hi – as per my previous question on micro-chipping, I have recently (accidentally) rescued a beagle puppy who is now approaching 6 months old. When I got her, the poor thing was riddled with worms which had led to an infection in her intestines. She has been to the vet and was of course cured with Drontal wormer along with Inceptor and antibiotics. However, due to the cost I no longer wish to purchase these meds from my vet when I can instead source from places such as 1-800-petmeds. My question is though, on reading up on the medications it seems that Inceptor is not only for heart worms but also treats and prevents hook worms, round worms and whip worms but not tape worms? Is there another broad spectrum wormer I could use that covers them all and then a seperate medication solely for heart worm prevention so that I am not overloading her little system? All advice much appreciated. Thank you.
Her flea treatment is up todate – I use frontline.

So here’s the thing, I’ve had my dog for almost a year and didn’t have fleas. But I got 2 kittens about 2 months ago and they had fleas so now my dog has them bad all she does is scratch and I feel really bad because she’s leaving rashes in her body from scratch. I tried bathing her with flea shampoo and I bathe the cats with dawn. My apt is all rug so I tried to vaccum everything and wash their beddings but they always seem to come back.. I’m thinking of getting advantage for them. I know its expensive but getting outta hand I even had a flea jump on my bed.. Anyone with experience can give me some advice on what to do. If advantage really works. Answers very much appreciated
