Anybody use Advantix K9 flea for dogs?

I have used Advantix K9 for 5 Years or so. I usually buy it online from 1-800-Petmeds. It has always worked really good, and sometimes I can go over the month. Since I have 2 dogs it is expensive to use every month.

So I bought it off ebay a few times, and once it didn’t seem to work. I also bought it from Petsmart, and one week later there was a flea on my dog, and I had to put it on again. And than 2 weeks later I had to use another one.

It is very important it work for my Maltese, as she is allergic to flea bites.

So the question is, why do some work, and some not work. Anybody experience this also?
I went on viewpoints and reads some reviews, and they didn’t sound too good. I can’t take the chance of it not working!
I used to use Frontline, but that was allowing the flea to bite my dog before it was killed. So I was having alot of trouble with her scratching, and changed to Advantix, which worked wonderful untill I started to buy it other places, which by the way is the question!
We have to protect them against ticks too, as we go up to the mountains alot.
I am wondering if I should use the cheaper and safer advantage in the winter, and the Advantix in the summer when we are camping?
Just checked and Advantage is only 6 or 7 dollars cheaper.

Is dog advantage safe on cats?

I have seen advertisements online to purchase Advantage flea treatment (which is designed for extra large dogs) kits to divide for cat treatment. They say that advantage dog and cat medicine is the same. Is this true?

Advantage for dogs, used on cats.?

In using one bottle of advantage (for dogs) to make individual doses for cats, how does the medicine work?
For example… I usually get the "large" breed red pack, and dose it out.. but that cuts it really close. If I were to get the "extra large" breed bottle… is there just more product per tube? Or is the medicine actually stronger?
Thanks.

I don’t have a tick problem just fleas. How well has advantage worked for you? I have used Frontline for years and seems to be not effective anymore on the cats or dogs.

Just another note: dogs have got skin growths warts. I’m not sure but I have used Frontline for years. I’m wondering if they got the warts from the Frontline as well.
