I went to the vet today to pick up my cats advantage. I just put it on him when my husband said it looked like to much was being put on my cat. I told him it was the right amount for my 22 pound cat. After listen to my husband complaining, I double checked the label…OMG I was given the wrong Advantage. The advantage I was given is for a 96 pound k-9!!! Can my cat overdose? What should I do. I have had BAD experiences with my ER vet so I hate to call them.
The advantage came from the vet not anything from the store. I just called the local animal ER & Critical Care Center and they told me to watch my cat through the night and to look for the exact signs that lsisDane described. Thanks everyone for the quick answers to my question.

Hi there – I have two cats just under a year old and brother and sister. I suspect a flea or two and was considering using Advantage because I had good results with previous cats. . These two groom each other a lot, so I was hesitating. Normally the back of the neck doesn’t get licked, but with these two they are pretty thorough. Could I safely use it? Thanks………

My kittens have fleas. We have an enclosed space in our yard, and we let them run around, so I think this is how they got them.They are 12 weeks old now, and even though I feed them 3 to 4 times a day, they still weigh less than 1 kg. I think they are 600/700 grams or something. They’re very active, and are always running around and playing. I sprayed them with the Frontline spray for cats 2 and a half weeks ago, and they still have fleas. How long do I have to wait before I can use the Advantage treatment for cats under 4 kg?

I have 2 cats, and we just discovered flea’s. Baths are very hard (as they are cats). I like Advantage and have used it with other cats, but I’m concerned with the possibiltiy of the cats licking each other.

If I apply it, do I need to keep the cats seperated? If so, how long?

can i use this on my cats? just developed a flea problem on all my animals.

also i ordered the over 55lbs variety instead of 10lbs because the price is the same, and i assume i get more medication that way to spread out among my 3 small dogs and 4 cats.
