I used advantage for cats on all 3 of my kitties for the first time last night. It was 8:30 pm, its been 9 hours & they are all still itching. They seem more sluggish and are sleeping more, but eating and drinking just fine. I got the stuff on-line since my vet wanted way more than I could afford. Has anyone had an experience with it not working very well or taking a long time to work? Are their any negative reactions that I should be looking for?
Also prior to using the advantage, about 17 days ago I used hartz drops. Not the advanced 3 in 1 that so many people have had horror stories with. I don’t have the package anymore but I know it was the original one. They haven’t have any reactions yet, but the stuff wasn’t working after 2 days so I bathed them with dawn. Are any vets here that can respond about delayed reactions to hartz products? Im really worried about them & hope I didn’t poising my kitties with that stuff. PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks to all whom respond!!
also I have bathed them several times since I used the hartz stuff once with a flea shampoo and twice more with dawn this last week, hoping to get it all off them..

First, which brand works better for fleas?
Second, can the same formula be used on cats & dogs? All my animals are under 20lbs.

I have recently gotten a new kitten into the house, about a week ago we found out she had fleas on her. We treated her with Advantage and a flea and tick bath (as we did our other cat at the same time), but the fleas still came back on the kitten, and I think that they are now in the carpets. What home remedies would work for "de-flea & de-ticking" my house and my cats, I have a newborn and a 3 year old in the house too so I am looking for something that is kid safe and works. Anofficersfiancee0815 is my sn on yahoo to catch me on if there is anything that will to help. I do not have internet at home. any answers here or on there would be helpful. Thanks!

I have 2 cats, one is about 8 years old, and the other is about 5 months old. The kitten has a cat & kitten flea and tick collar, and the 8 year old has a cat flea and tick collar. The collars haven’t done much against the fleas, so we bought "OneSpot Treatment for cats and kittens" thats supposed to kill fleas. I want to know if it is safe to use both the collar and the OneSpot treatment? The OneSpot treatment looks like its liquid that you poor on its neck.
